Crisis Services

Limited urgent hours are available each day to speak with a counselor about a concern that you feel can not wait. These counselors will provide phone consultation and recommend a course of action. Since we are an outpatient facility, and do not have urgent psychiatric care, some students will be directed to a facility with greater urgent care capacities.

CCS has a center crisis team each quarter trained to respond to campus emergencies (such as death of a student, fire, a disruptive campus occurrence). This crisis team can be contacted through the center director or clinical director.

Often crises occur for students when our center is closed. Columbus is fortunate to have several twenty-four hour crisis services available by phone. These services include NetCare Access (276-2273), OSU Hospital Emergency Department (293-8333), and Suicide Prevention Service (221-5445). These are excellent resources to utilize for students and concerned others.
